DISCLAIMER: I DID NOT RUN IN THIS MARATHON BUT I WAS FAN-GIRLING OVER MY WONDERFUL MOTHER AS SHE RAN THE HALF-MARATHON!
My mom ran her 5th half-marathon on Sunday, November 19th and I couldn’t be more proud of her. I’m writing this post in hopes you can draw some inspiration from her. Here’s the story–my mom has never played a sport in her entire life and now she’s a half marathoner!! How crazy is that? She decided about a year and half or so ago that she would take up running and has done AMAZING.
My mom has been trying to get my sister, Maissa and I to do one with her. We finally agreed to commit to run the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon in April. With it only being November, I’m guessing I will have an ample amount of time to train for it. The last time I ran for a sport was in 8th grade for track (insert crying laughing emoji here). Let’s be honest here–I haterunning. I just could never get into it. LIKE WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT WHEN YOU’RE RUNNING?? WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT? I know when I used to run a few miles here and there around Oklahoma City–I looked like a lost squirrel. Well since it’s 5 months away, I figured I could train and then buy a new Lululemon running outfit to commemorate my mental defeat. At least I’ll look fashionable on that day—I would say cute buttttt I don’t know how cute my face will look after 13.1 miles of literal hell.
Have you ever ran a half or full marathon? Who wants to join me in April?
Outfit details: Lululemon Tight Stuff Tight II, Lululemon Pullover from last year’s sale (similar, don’t hesitate to look on Poshmark either!), Nike Theas (my favorite lifestyle sneaker), Beanie (similar), and Prada sunnies (on sale now).
My dad and mom.
All around the world–or in this case…Tulsa!
My sister, Maissa and I!
